Overview
The "Add all POS products that have inventory" setting does just what it sounds like. If you are new to either Shopify or your POS, it can be a massive time-saver for setting up your unified commerce system.
How it works
When the "Add all POS products that have inventory" setting is enabled, products with a price greater than $0 and with inventory (or that are non-inventoried) will be automatically added to Shopify. This helps ensure that products are not added to Shopify until their info is complete.
Note - The Mortar support team can enable/disable the "Add all POS products that have inventory" for you. Just start a chat.
Enabling "Add all products" for the first time
When the setting is first enabled, ALL of your POS products with inventory and a price greater than $0 will be automatically added to Shopify slowly. This allows other parts of your sync to function while products are added. You can monitor the progress of this sync process on the Mortar homepage.
Daily "Add all products" workflow
When enabled, remember that any product will be automatically queued for addition to Shopify whenever it is updated, sold, or received in your POS.
Warning - Avoid using the duplicate function when creating new products in POS when "Add all products" is enabled. Duplicated products will be added to Shopify faster than you can complete editing them.
You can still use the "add" tag
You can use the "add" tag at any time to override the inventory and price requirements and add any product. Learn more: Using POS tags to manage Shopify products
