Overview
What is image Alt text? If an image cannot load for any reason, then alt text is shown instead. It is also used by assistive technology to describe an image to a visually impaired customer. Including alt text can also boost your website's SEO.
Mortar can sync Image Alt Text from your POS using either the first variant option name or the web short description if supported by your POS. Please connect over chat with a member of our support team if you have any questions.

First Option | Sync's the variant's first "Option" name. In most accounts, this will be the color of the variant. For single products, this will sync no alt text. |
Web Short Description | Syncs the product's web short description in your POS. |
Note: Image Updates AND Image Alt Text Updates must be enabled for Image Alt Text to sync at all.
