Overview
The "noinventory" tag is applied only to inventoried products in point of sale that are associated to single items or variants in Shopify. Applying the tag directly in Shopify will have no effect.
β
When the "noinventory" tag is applied, the inventory quantity of the associated SKU in Shopify will not be updated by the integration. All other product data is still updated based on your settings.

Example Use
High-volume Online Sales - limit over sale risk while Shopify sells through available inventory as quickly as possible.
Limited Online Inventory Allotment - when you want to set aside a quantity for in-store or online sale only. For instance, by manually setting the quantity in Shopify to a lower allocation (Total Qty: 20, set Shopify to 16 so that 4 are only available in-store).
Limited Preorders - allow preorders against a limited inventory allotment.
Multiple Integrations - when you want a variant's inventory to be controlled by another source, say a 3PL or drop-shipper.
