Fixing "No match" products

Step by step guide for linking "No match" products; where no match was found to a product in your POS.

Overview

"No match" means that the Product SKU or Barcode in Shopify, could not be found in your POS. There are three options to link a "No match" product. You can either:

  1. Update the product

  2. Create a new product in your POS

  3. Archive the product if you no longer need it.

Step-by-Step

  1. Click the "Search POS" link in the export file

    1. If the product exists in your POS but does not use the SKU or Barcode found on Shopify, update the SKU of the product in your POS with the SKU from Shopify

    2. If you did not find a product to link, expand your POS search with variations of the product title, SKU or Barcode

      ✔ Tip: Remember to check for archived or inactive products. You may be able to simply unarchive a product in your POS

  2. If no corresponding product can be found in your POS, proceed to the next option below, Create new POS products

Step-by-step

If no matching product exists in your POS:

  1. Create the product in your POS

  2. Copy the SKU, System ID, or Item # from your POS to the Shopify SKU field

  3. Return to your matching report to address the next product.

Archiving products to fix "No match" links

Finally, not all products need to be carried forward. If you have old products on Shopify that have long since sold out, the best practice is to archive these products on Shopify. Archiving a product does not destroy any history you have with it. It simply hides the product from accidental use.

Step-by-step

  1. Begin by reviewing the Unlinked and Priority tabs on the Link Products page

  2. Select the name of the unlinked Shopify product

  3. On Shopify, select "back to the product"

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Archive Product
