Fixing "No data" products

Step-by-step guide for linking Shopify products without a SKU or Barcode using the Mortar linking export.

Overview

When a SKU or Barcode is not included on a Shopify Product, it is not possible to link it to a product in your POS. The solution is to add a SKU or Barcode to the Shopify Product.

Add a Shopify SKU or Barcode (UPC)

Start with a "No Data" product on the Priority or Unlinked tab of the export file.

Step-by-step

  1. Click the "Search POS" link to search for the product title in your POS; the product may have a different title in your POS, so if not found, try searching by another likely title.

  2. If no product or item exists, create a matching product in your POS

  3. Copy the item's unique ID generated by the POS, ie. Custom SKU, System ID, or Item # to the Shopify SKU field

  4. Repeat this process for any No Data product on your Linking report
