Overview
For Shopify users, Mortar supports selling and redeeming integrated gift cards to help maximize your sales. There are 3 types of gift cards supported:
Instore gift cards - redeem instore only
Shopify gift cards - redeem online only
Integrated gift cards - redeem instore OR online
Setting Location
The settings below provide users with the ability to customize the functionality of the gift card integration.

Note: Access to settings is determined by your Mortar plan level.
Gift Cards
Name | Options (Default in Bold) | Effect |
Download Gift Cards | On/Off | Full gift card support |
Gift Card Only orders route to Location | Choose from drop-down | Select a shop to associate orders that only contain purchased gift cards |
Create Gift Cards | On/Off | As gift cards are sold on Shopify, create new matching gift cards in the POS. |
Adjust Gift Cards | On/Off | Change the balance on gift cards as sales are made |
Disable Gift Cards | On/Off | Pause Gift card sync, Used for Troubleshooting |
Associate Uploaded Gift Cards to Customers and trigger Gift Card Notification Emails | On/Off | On = When supported by POS, link gift cards to a matching customer in the POS. Allows Shopify to send gift card notification emails. |
Download Serial Number to Customer | On/Off |
