Setup and best practices when using CommentSold, Shopify & Mortar

Overview

Setup for CommentSold with Mortar takes just a few simple steps. You can start converting social media comments into sales that will sync to Shopify, which Mortar will then sync with your POS.

CommentSold

  • Third-party sales channel that uses your Shopify inventory levels

  • Is not an POS

Step-by-Step

Within CommentSold:

  1. Confirm that the Send Orders to Shopify setting is enabled

    1. Setup > Shopify Sync > Send Orders to Shopify = Enabled

Mortar Settings:

  1. In your Shopify Admin > Apps > Mortar > Settings


  2. Press Advanced Settings


  3. Turn off Update Inventory in your Accumula settings: Apps > Shopify > Inventory

  4. Press Save Settings

Note: While not required, you can also turn off Update Products for a boost in sync performance.

Turning Update Inventory back ON

While Update Inventory is OFF inventory updates will queue up. When the Update Inventory setting is turned back ON, all inventory sold during the period will sync automatically with your POS.

  • If using CommentSold to manage an event, turn update inventory ON after each event to resume inventory syncing.

  • If using CommentSold as your primary online sales tool, periodically toggle inventory on to allow the sync to refresh inventory levels.
