Plan Level Scale plan and above
In addition to setting the Reserve stock value by location, Scale plan users can use the Reserve stock feature to limit the available inventory to sync Shopify by subtracting a reserve stock value from the available quantity using a combination of location and individual product.
This strategy can protect against overselling risks or retain store inventory on the shelf so that it does not sell out completely when also available online. Most retailers believe that their inventory is not accurate, so this approach can also save them from the inherent inaccuracies that crop up at retail.
Reserve stock Generally or Targeted
Reserve stock can be set using one of two methods.
Method | Effect |
Per Location | Single value subtracted from the inventory quantities for all products in each location |
Per Product, Per location | Unique value subtracted from the inventory quantity of a specific product and unique to each location |
Product availability
Mortar supports two unique Reserve stock values. Available to Ship is used for Shopify inventory quantity updates, and both are included in our Find-in-Store Display data in Shopify.
Available to Ship - the quantity subtracted from Shopify inventory quantity updates and also subtracted from the available to ship quantity from the location that is included in Find-in-Store Display data.
Available in Store - the quantity subtracted from what is available on the store shelf or for pickup included in Find-in-Store Display data.
Setting reserve stock levels
Reserve Stock values can be modified in 3 ways.

Accumula app > Products > Reserve Stock
Step-by-step
Setting Reserve stock by location
Select Locations from the sidebar.
Click on the location you would like to edit
Adjust the Location reserve stock - Available to Ship setting
Press Update
Location details
Modify the Reserve Stock level for all products on the Location Detail page for each location

Select Products from the sidebar.
Target products by filtering for Name, SKU, Tags, Category, or Brand
Select the location by use the dropdown menu
In the filter results, adjust the Reserve stock levels on each product
Select Save on each product your update

Setting Reserve stock by import
Select Products from the sidebar.
Target products by filtering for Name, SKU, Tags, Category, or Brand
Select Export, a CSV file will be emailed to you
Edit the file in your favorite spreadsheet application
Select import and upload your CSV
